Caden

The sun sets, and the stars start coming out. The four of us spent the day laughing and talking, trying not to imagine that tomorrow is going to be the day we have to separate.

Back to New York – where no one can know our secret.

But that still leaves tonight – and I won my night with her. I don’t know how I knew that Sierra wanted everything I gave her. All I knew is that I wanted to give her everything she craves.

It was so fucking fun to see how nervous and turned-on she got from being punished. From submitting to us three.

And now I get to enjoy my reward.

“It’s time. No one can see us, now.”

Sierra smiles. “Good. A picnic under the stars. I can’t wait.”

She made the picnic, and I’m looking forward to it. Leaving Ford and Jason back at her house, Sierra and I drive out to a hidden spot, high up on a hilltop.

“Is this where boys brought you in highschool?”

She laughs, then looks embarrassed. “I… To be honest, Caden, I wasn’t too popular in high school.”

“Really? I don’t believe you. You’re too fucking adorable, Sierra.”

She smiles. “I’m glad you think so.”

I get it. She must have been a late bloomer. It all makes sense. That’s why she’s so shy. Why she doesn’t realize how gorgeous she is.

“You have no idea how beautiful you are, do you?”

“I feel beautiful when you tell me that,” she says softly.

We get out of the car and I lay a blanket down. I grab Sierra close. We don’t say anything – just look up at the stars for a minute or two. It’s like the night sky was meant for us.

“I wish… I wish we didn’t have to hide.”

I nod. “I know what you mean. It won’t be forever.”

She sighs. “It feels like forever. You have to get a sponsorship deal to save the orphanage. No sponsor is going to be okay with the face of their organization doing… Doing what we’re doing.”

“That’s not true. We just need to get enough money to save the orphanage. Then we don’t need the sponsorship. If they want to dump us, they dump us.”

Sierra sighs, and leans back against me, closing her eyes. We’re lit up by the little candle. I lean down and gently stroke my hand on her cheek. Her eyes open. I was worried the first thing that would flicker in them would be fear, but I see happiness. I never want her to think I’d do anything to hurt her.

I never want to do anything to push her past her limits.

“Are you nervous, Caden? You’re going to playoffs.”

“I’m scared. I’ll admit that. You know, I’ve never been scared of any man – but I’m scared of failure. I don’t know if you’re the reason I’m suddenly playing so well, or if it was always inside me and you just brought it out. But I do know I need to keep winning. This is my chance.”

She smiles up at me.
